Stone Lithography

The light study was a way for me to bring the very much drawing-based practice of stone lithography into a style and way of thinking that comes more naturally to me and my work. The relatively flat areas of value are reminiscent of the colored layers of a multilayer relief print, my preferred printing technique. The nude body was inspired by my figure drawings, one area of drawing that I particularly enjoy. The human form also interacts so beautifully with light, creating dynamic shapes with highlights and shadows.
