Screen Print
10'“ x 10”
For this project I wanted to explore how color affects the emotional qualities of a print. I printed one image multiple times, each each time with a different pallet. The image itself is nondescript and abstract, so the color really carries the weight of the tone. Taking inspiration from the cover of Echos, by Pink Floyd, which is a close up of an ear, I use an altered photograph of a part of the body in a way that leaves a bit of mystery.
I chose to screen print this project because I wanted more fluid forms rather than my typical solid blocks of color. Bitmapping combined with a manipulation of CMYK layers allowed me to create the transitions I was aiming for.
